Glen Bartlett

Glen Bartlett is the Managing Director of Bartlett Workplace Lawyers and Consultants, Director of Bartlett Workplace Management Training.

Glen practices in all aspects of Workplace Relations and Employment Law.  Glen has worked in the Industrial Relations area since 1986, including three years as a Union Advocate, four years as an academic and has since built a strong practice advising employers on all aspects of Workplace Relations and Employment Law since 1994. 

Prior to establishing Bartlett Workplace, Glen, having built a successful Workplace Relations practice in Perth and was then requested to relocate to the Melbourne Office in 2008 to rebuild the Melbourne practice and was for many years a Partner at Clayton Utz, including several years as Managing Partner of the Melbourne Office. Glen was appointed Managing Partner of the Melbourne office in 2010 to drive a Growth and Cultural Change program for the office.

With over 25 years’ experience in leadership roles, Glen has also acted for a wide range of significant private and public sector clients, including some of Australia’s largest employers, covering a wide range of industries including the education sector but has also worked closely clients to help drive cultural change and has trained over 5,000 executives including HR Professionals, Managers and In-House Lawyers.

Glen is recognised nationally as a leading trainer in Cultural Change and Leadership, Workplace and Employment Law, Human Resources, Enterprise Bargaining, Workplace Investigations and Leadership Development.  He has also developed and facilitated extensive workshops on Enterprise Bargaining under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth); managing employee performance and conduct; managing ill and injured employees; and Workplace Investigations.

Glen is the President of the Melbourne Football Club being appointed in August 2013; following a review conducted by the AFL, to lead the rebuild of the MFC and oversee significant changes including, leading cultural change within the MFC and re-establishing the MFC as a competitive force on and off the field.

Of interest, Glen was a successful former Australian Rules Footballer who played for the West Coast Eagles in the AFL and was part of their inaugural team, winning their Best Clubman Award in 1987.  He also spent 14 years at the East Perth Football Club including four years as Captain.
